Trauma & PTSD

What happened to you doesn't have to define where you go.

Trauma is not always a single catastrophic event. It can be years of chronic stress, an environment that never felt safe, a relationship that left invisible damage, or an experience that changed everything -- even if no one else could see it. At the Luminary Center, we approach trauma with care, patience, and deep respect for your nervous system's wisdom. Healing isn't about reliving it. It's about becoming free from it.

Does this sound familiar?

This work is for you if...

  • --

Something happened -- and part of you has never fully come back from it.

  • --

You react in ways you don't always understand, and it's affecting your relationships and your sense of self.

  • --

You've tried to 'move on,' but your body and mind aren't cooperating.

  • --

You want to heal -- not just cope -- and you're ready to do that work with someone you trust.

What to Expect

Trauma work at the Luminary Center is paced, relational, and grounded in evidence. We draw from somatic experiencing, EMDR-informed approaches, and trauma-focused CBT depending on what fits your needs. We never push you faster than you're ready to go -- and we're not afraid to go as deep as you need. The therapeutic relationship itself is a core part of the healing process, and we take that seriously. Sessions are held via secure telehealth for clients located in Georgia.

What Becomes Possible

The outcomes you're working toward

Understanding what your nervous system has been doing

Trauma responses aren't weakness -- they're protection. You'll learn how trauma lives in the body and mind, and how to work with it rather than against it.

Regulation without shutting down

You'll build the capacity to feel activated without being overwhelmed -- and to return to a calm center more quickly and reliably.

Freedom from the ambush of the past

The ability to move through your life without being blindsided by old wounds. The past becomes context -- not a trap you keep falling into.
